The company was founded in 1996 in Chiavari, an idea by Riccardo Cangini, designer and author of videogames with many years experience in the videogame industry and certainly a forerunner of the creation of video games in Italy.

Artematica produces videogames for consoles (including PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP), PCs and mobile phones and is also the pioneer company in the production of advergames, ie video games designed to convey advertising messages.

The videogames produced and developed by Artematica are distributed all over the world thanks to the partnership with Ubisoft, Warner Bros and Disney. It is also a producer of graphic adventures games, a type of adventure video games equipped with a graphical user interface that has undergone a long crisis but which with the advent of the new millennium have experienced a rediscovery thanks also to the improvement of graphics techniques and at the interface.

Over the years he has won numerous awards thanks to: “Druuna: Morbus Gravis”, awarded as best multimedia game (Lucca Comics Award); “Martin Mystère – Operation Dorian Gray”, awarded as best Italian game (Il Grillo – Alta Badia Award); “Diabolik: The Original Sin”, awarded as best videogame (Play Mont Festival International Multimedia Award).



Mileston, founded in Milan in 1996, today is the largest Italian company producing video games for PCs and consoles, thanks to the high quality that its products boast.

The specialty of this company is undoubtedly the ability to develop products in the industryof road racing, then motor racing and motorcycling both on off-road and on the road.

This specialization in the racing world derives also from the deep passion that the creative team committed at Mileston has for the world of motorcycling and motoring, coming to realize video games of a truly impressive quality. In fact, to make every detail true, the creative Mileston collaborate “elbow to elbow” with the engineers of the major car and motorcycle manufacturers, so as to give the player the feeling of being really driving the vehicle.

Ovosonico was born from the meeting between Massimo Guarini, creative director and long-term expert in the videogame sector and Gianni Ricciardi, audio director for videogame developers.

The founders of 34BigThings are Valerio Di Donato, Giuseppe Franchi and Giacomo Ferronato and together with the team of professionals who collaborate with them have brought to Italy a new point of reference in the production and development of videogames.

The indi studio in Turin won the “Drago D’Oro” award for the best Italian videogame in 2017 with “Redout” and for a company that has only 5 years of activity, it is not a little bit.

On the wave of the sudden development of Italian gamehouses in 2013 Storm in a TeaCup is founded by Carlo Ivo Alimo Bianchi, a great CG artist with many years of experience in some of the largest videogames production houses such as Ubisoft, IO Interactive and MetricMinds. which has created games like “Crysys 3” for Crytek and “Batman: Arkham Origins” for Warner Bros.

The first official release of the Storm in a TeaCup is “NERO”, a videogame that featured a peculiar but extraordinary artistic style, made for platforms like PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and that has been very successful.

The study team contains a mixture of different artistic skills and competences for culture; the guys who collaborate with the studio come from different countries, making the company’s products unique.

In 2017, Gamescom is presented with the demo of their latest project “Close to the Sun” (the release is scheduled for the second half of 2018), a horror game set on an obscure and enigmatic naval complex created by Nicola Tesla, a inventor from 800 century.



MixedBag is a small indie Studio born from the idea of ​​the two talents in the field of videogames, the graphic design Andrea Gellato and the programmer Mauro Farinelli.

The studio sees the light in 2011 when its founders conceive the idea of ​​creating a prototype of an adventure game for the iOS system.

MixedBag is the Italian studio that first published a title for PS4.

This reality plays an important role for what concerns the development of gameplay and Virtual Reality mechanics and their work is well framed on the development of innovative games for all platforms (Console, PC and mobile).

MixedBag productions are “Futuridium EP Deluxe”, initially released on PS4 and PS Vita and subsequently made available also for Windows, MAC, Linux, Steam OS and “Forma.8” that gives a world to be explored thanks to a visual style really stunning, released in 2017 for: PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Xbox One, iOS, PC, Mac and Facebook.

Tiny Bull Studios

Tiny Bull Studios is an independent studio founded in Turin in 2011 when the two founders Matteo Lana and Rocco Luigi Tartaglia, once they have reached the specialist degree in Virtual Reality, start working on their first project in this industry, thanks to the great passion that it both linked to video games.

Initially the idea was to make games exclusively for consoles but then deviated from this choice, deciding to focus on the development of video games for iOS mobile devices.

But the initial goal was nevertheless reached, in fact today Tiny Bull Studios makes games for mobile devices, PCs and consoles. In these very few years of activity this reality has grown a lot, today there are in fact 28 employees among programmers, game designers, concepts, textures and 3D artists and writers.

After the release of several products the studio presents “Blind”, a product entirely created and created for Virtual Reality and “Game Omen Exitio: Plague”, a game that recalls the narrative style of the gamebook set at the end of the 800s.


Lunar Great Wall Studios

Lunar Great Wall Studios is the youngest reality among those presented in this article.

In fact, it was only in 2016 in Milan that Marco Ponte, a professional videogame player who decided to create a studio for the development and production of entertainment products for the industry, is a beacon in the videogame world, both in terms of avant-garde technology that of experience and innovative creative talent.

This production company will create games for the mobile market as well as for all the major platforms (PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch) and its objective is to give all the videogamers new and immersive experiences, thanks to the attention that dedicates to the research of innovations related to Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

The first two projects are currently underway, of which very little is known.
